The meeting was very well attended with more new members joining which is lovely for the Society.

After welcoming everyone notices regarding our visit to Myddleton House on May

12th, the visit to the Sandringham Show on July 29th were given out followed by an

announcement concerning the May speakers Olive Baldwin and Thelma Wilson who will talk about Warley Place, Miss Willmotts garden and the Essex Wild Life Reserve there. Miss Willmott was a renowned plantswoman and daffodil breeder.

The speaker for the evening Mr Peter Morris a familiar face to many was introduced for his talk on Growing in Containers. We were entertained and educated in to the variety of containers and plants that he had tried over a period of three years. We shall never throw an old container, grow bag etc away again but use it for a crop or plant. A beautiful orchid in a pot stole the evening, brought along as the photo of it did not do it justice.

Questions and refreshments followed enabling members to to ask questions pertinent to their own plantings.
